Andrew graduated from the Imperial College London School of Medicine at St Mary’s, UK, in 2003. He underwent higher surgical training in vascular, endovascular and aortic surgery in the United Kingdom and Australia at the Imperial Vascular Unit at St Mary’s Hospital London, and as the international fellow at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Queensland. 

 

After practicing in the UK and Australia for more than 12 years, Andrew left his UK National Health Service consultant post at King’s College Hospital, London, to join the National University Heart Centre, Singapore in 2015. Andrew was a senior consultant vascular, endovascular and aortic surgeon and an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery of the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore prior to founding the Asian Aortic and Vascular Centre.

 

Andrew has won multiple awards including the 2012 Royal College of Surgeons of England HJ Windsor prize. In 2014, by examination, he was awarded the Gold Medal for achieving the Fellowship of the European Board of Vascular Surgery with Honours, for the highest overall examination performance of all candidates. He was awarded a PhD by the University of Warwick, UK, in 2020, for his research on endovascular surgery, and has written over 100 research articles.

 

Whilst Andrew has specialised training and expertise in complex open, hybrid and endovascular aortic surgery, he regularly performs all vascular surgery including, but not limited to, open and minimally invasive varicose vein surgery, arteriovenous fistula / graft creation and maintenance, lower limb revascularisation for critical limb ischaemia, carotid surgery, line insertion and removal, retroperitoneal spine exposures and thrombolysis / aspiration thrombectomy for deep venous thromboses.

With a great passion for being a part of the medical team and making a positive impact on the lives of patients, Jaclyn has pursued a fulfilling career as a healthcare worker. Over the course of 6 years, she has honed her skills as an Operating Theatre Scrub Nurse at restructured hospital, specializing in General Surgery within the Vascular Discipline.
As an Operating Theatre Scrub Nurse, she has supported surgeons during a wide range of procedures. As a vital member of the surgical team, Jaclyn has excelled in organizing necessary equipment and consumables, ensuring a smooth workflow and contributing to successful surgeries. Moreover, she has provided compassionate post-operative care, monitoring patients' well-being and assisting them in their recovery journey.
During her leisure time, Jaclyn indulges in various hobbies such as baking, cooking, reading, dancing and playing badminton that bring her fulfilment and allow her to recharge. These activities enable her to nurture her creativity, expand her knowledge, and maintain a holistic sense of well-being.

Vascular Nurse

Si Yun is an experienced Sonographer who has dedicated her career to the field of Vascular Ultrasound. Prior to joining Asian Aortic & Vascular Centre, she worked as a Sonographer at Sengkang General Hospital. With 8 years of experience in the field, She has developed a deep understanding of the complexities involved in assessing blood flow and identifying abnormalities in the vascular system.
Si Yun chose to specialize in Vascular Ultrasound because she firmly believes that it plays a crucial role in helping doctors develop comprehensive healthcare plans for patients. By providing accurate and detailed images of blood vessels, she contributes to the early detection and diagnosis of vascular diseases, enabling timely intervention and improved patient outcomes.
Outside of her professional life, she enjoys making meaningful memories with her loved ones. She values quality time spent with family and friends, creating lasting bonds and treasured experiences. Additionally, She is a devoted Lego fan, finding joy in constructing intricate models and appreciating the artistry behind them.
